WRITTEN: 2003. SUMMARY: Kim, a young poet and playwright, had written a play-in-one-scene called JSTMYN. Her friend, Shane, had adapted the play into a full-length show, and approached her about authorizing a production of the new version. They have arranged a meeting in a neighborhood park. Shane is planning to celebrate the signing of their first contract, and is shocked when Kim refuses to allowing Shane's "bastardization" of her work to be published or produced. A dispute over intellectual creative property erupts. The battle rages until Kim eventually reveals the true reason why the play means so much to her: Shane was the inspiration for the love story he destroyed. Ultimately, their collaboration on JSTMYN mirrors their uneven relationship. CAST: 1 Man, 1 Woman. LENGTH: One-Act. PAGES: 28.
