So... Footloose... it looked like a show. And the audience... looked almost like TheatreFest. Thetard's so-called "small musical" brought in 471 people. And everyone did really well. I especially enjoyed Kathy leaning over Seth to say, "Michelle can sing!?" and Shane Irvin's performance was also really impressive. Rob's character made me want to smack my forehead into something sharp, but wow, he wasn't kidding in his bio. It was really nice to see everyone and I had fun handing out flowers. Oooh, and Kathy gave me a ride home and a birthday present! She gave me her favorite book, it's called Cheese Monkeys. It's very cool looking. And I think I will go out on a limb here and declare that there will be a mandatory These Aren't My Shoes Production if Sma, Allison, Chelle, Megan, and Katie do not receive super-hella cool roles in Midsummer. I have a book of plays with all-female casts now, and I hate seeing Sma & Allison's talent being wasted in the chorus. And I think there are quite a few other females who's toes are twitching for a chance.
But before I get carried away with Spring Ideas, here's November's Projects: My FOI paper on school prayer (Michelle, once I write it, can you read it for me?), my history paper on feminism, advertising the auditions for The Vagina Monologues, finding a new roommate, one more philosophy paper, and helping with U-High Speech Team.
By the way, if you haven't done speech before but you'd like to join (oh, come on, you know you're not busy enough yet!) Thursday is the Placement Workshop, afterschool. Oh, and if you just want to be a Speech Groupie, I've heard (from Seth) that it's a lot of fun and very little work is involved. =)
I think I'd like to have a small party next Friday night, just for the U-Highers who missed my actual birthday. Would you guys be interested in that? I'm thinking "I Never," pumpkin pie, and Silence of the Lambs... but I'm flexible... Oh, and there are three Guerilla performances this week, you guys should get a group together and try to come to at least one. We're nothing like real theatre, but we have our moments.
Saturday: Dan & Kellie Perform @ Theatre of Ted, midnight in CW 301.
Sunday: The Tempest @ ISU, 2:00.
Monday: Guerilla Performance @ 7 in Hewitt Library.
