Today, I had breakfast with the Megans and Renata. We had pastries at Chatters. Have you ever wondered why they call it monkey bread? ("I'm glad humans make it now. Or it would be all furry.") And then, I went with them to U-High and watched Pride & Prejudice! I love that movie! And then they had class meetings, so I ordered Madrigal tickets for Dan and I (6:00 on Sunday, Dan you owe me $18, I hope that's okay). I put up a sheet for coaching next week - which happens to be the dreaded Week Before Finals, but I'm coaching two days anyway - in the interest of maintaining some enthusiasm-for-life-itself. Renata gave me a ride to my 11:00 class.
Then I went to FOI, and it was WEED DAY! We had presentations for and against the legalization of GANJA! It was most excellent. Then we did an evaluation survey of FOI and Dr. Beck. And I SANDBAGGED her! It was very satisfying. Honesty rocks. =) Then, Erin and I had lunch and we talked for TWO HOURS about random stuff, mostly BUFFY (she's a fan, too! particularly of the third season! and she cried when she saw "the body!") and other randomness, like Margaret Cho and Tim Burton! We have SO much in common! And then I got home, and Karissa ISN'T HERE! And her mom left a seventeen-minute message on the answering machine! It's hysterical. One of her sisters was on another extension, and they, like, had this entire conversation! It was so great. Some highlights:
"Did you hear what that boy said?"
"He said it was Kellie and Karissa's room."
"That must be her boyfriend."
"It sounded like a white boy!"
[This is funny because the voice on our machine is none other than Steven Michaels - who is not dating my roommate for several incredibly obvious reasons!]
"No one's in that room. If that girl had been there, she woulda picked it up."
[This is funny because her mom called me "that girl!"]
And my favorite: "SHUT UP HE'A!"
["he'a" as in ghetto "here." Probably much funnier to hear than read...]
So, to make a long story... less long... Today ROCKS!
Now, I just have to write my essay on Wordsworth's conception of nature, finish my philosophy paper on the imaginary country of Moldavia, drug my roommate so that she doesn't keep me awake all night, and learn everything there is to know about Tennyson's In Memorium, before tomorrow morning at nine o'clock, and then I'm FREE! ("Free like the wind on a real calm day.") Well... free to deal with crazy family members, chemistry, a massive history paper on suffrage, and finding a new roommate. Oh, and taking time out of my catching up with my loved ones to begin preparing for finals.
